Put May 19-21 2023 in the calendar for the 44 mile Round Saltspring Island Race. Usually it’s a race in varied conditions with plenty of current requiring a deal of fortitude and persistence.
We will be running all the usual monohull and multihull divisions and circumnavigation direction will be skipper’s choice. Since there have been some comments about an occasional lack of wind at times, a new human powered boat division has been added. If you have a sailboat and some means of human powered propulsion you can play and compete for a new trophy. Think of it as a way of being R2AK curious without going whole hog.
Come over Friday night for a steak/salmon/vegetarian BBQ party, breakfast on Saturday and Sunday morning. We’ll be all done by about lunchtime on Sunday, so you’re free to sample the island’s delights or scoot off to the next event.
