DESCRIPTION:Join Nick Woolsey on a beautiful rainforest island for 1 or 2 weeks of poi and flow arts!\n\n\nLeviathan Poi Retreat 2026\nJoin me (Nick Woolsey) for 1 or 2 weeks of poi\, flow arts\, and adventure! \nLeviathan Studio is on Lasqueti Island\, BC—about 5 hours from Vancouver. It’s a dome with a sprung dance floor\, on an off-grid island in the forest. \nSee the dance space: https://youtu.be/Bw6WMs2uTCo \nYour Adventure \n\nDeepen your freedom with poi: expressive dance\, rhythm and musicality\, and lots of moves! This is where I invite you into everything I’ve learned about poi over 20 years!\nDevelop your flow skills with some of the greatest people you will ever meet\nDeepen friendships and connect with nature!\nEnjoy incredible food cooked on a wood stove with fresh ingredients: kale from the garden\, locally raised chicken\, fresh-caught salmon\, and wild venison hunted by Mark (the owner)\n\nPrerequisites \nWeek 1 (June 28 – July 4): You need to be comfortable with all the poi basics—meaning you can play somewhat freely with shoulder and hip reels\, weaves and windmills\, and some variations of butterflies. \nWeek 2 (July 5 – 11): For those who have played poi with me before (if you come to Week 1 you can automatically come to Week 2) OR who are playing poi at a pretty advanced level. If you want Week 2 only\, DM me! \nLodging: Leviathan is in the forest and RUSTIC (but lots of top quality cooked food and water!). Most people bring tents and sleeping bags. There are great spots for hammocks. There’s also a rustic room above the sauna and some day beds around the dome. You can rent a large tent with bedding for $100 CAD for the entire time you’re there. \nImportant to know: \n\nNo flush toilets—only well-maintained outhouses\nDrinking water from the well\, and sinks with well water for washing and tooth brushing\nSolar-powered electricity—enough for phone charging\, but no high-power devices (e.g.\, hairdryers)\nInternet is available at a bar/restaurant\, a 20-minute walk away\nLasqueti is remote—the nearest hospital is far away\nCoffee\, teas\, snacks\, water\, and abundant food will be provided\n\nMeals: First meal is dinner on arrival day. Get ready for a fun filled event overlooking Clayoquot Sound with a DJ set by the Yin Yang Clan and music by The County Line Duo\, Daniel Wesley and more! There will also be food trucks & a beverage tent featuring the Tofino Distillery & Driftwood Brewery. \nDoors open at 5:00pm\, with the first act on stage at 5:30pm. \nCan’t wait to see you there for our third annual event! \nBring a camp chair or blanket if you want to sit but we’ll see you on the dance floor! \nAll proceeds from ticket sales\, onsite TSWC merchandise sales and beverage sales goes to local community initiatives. \n\n\nAbout the Tofino Saltwater Classic:\nIn its 16th year\, the Tofino Saltwater Classic is named the largest fundraising event in Tofino\, and has had a significant positive impact on the community.
