SUMMARY:Gabriola Thanksgiving Studio Tour
DESCRIPTION:The Gabriola Thanksgiving Studio Tour is the 29th annual celebration of the island’s creative community. Artists open their studios so visitors can see work in progress\, chat about materials and process\, and buy original pieces directly from the maker. It’s relaxed\, family friendly\, and a great way to meet makers you’ll want to follow all year. \nTour Central and how the Tour works\nVisit Tour Central at 575 North Road on the top floor of Nova Boutique and Gallery in Folklife Village for a brochure\, map\, and samples from participating artists. Use the guide and map to plot a comfortable route across the island and look for the official white Tour flag and the GAC-issued studio number at participating driveways. Tour Central opens Friday October 10 and stays open through the long weekend. \nHighlights and extras\n\nForty eight studios to explore\, featuring painting\, ceramics\, textiles\, mixed media and more.\nArtists offer demos\, small workshops\, and behind-the-scenes stories.\nFamily friendly atmosphere with chances to buy originals and meet the makers.\n\nStudio Tour Raffle\nA generous raffle features works donated by 18 participating artists with a combined value over $5\,000. Raffle tickets are sold at the GAC office starting September 15 and at Tour Central during the weekend. Draws take place at Tour Central on October 13 at 3:00 PM. \nPractical info and visitor tips for Thanksgiving Studio Tour\n\nStudios open daily from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Plan to arrive early for quieter visits and better photo light.\nBring a small day pouch for phone\, wallet and any small purchases. Cash is handy but many artists accept cards.\nWear comfortable shoes for short drives and walks around studio properties.
