The WASPcam Action Camera

I recently purchased the WASPcam 9905 WiFi Action Camera.  My initial thought was to get some great action shots on the boat but now that I have it, I realized that the camera is great for looking under the boat.  I can check out the zincs on the v-drives without getting in the water.  Originally developed by the Canadian action-sports enthusiast Justin Moore, Cobra Marine purchased WASP in April of this year.  This compact sports camera is waterproof without a case down to 30 meters, records HD video up to 1080p/30fps, has a 3.8 cm LCD screen with up to 12MP photo quality.  The unique feature about this camera is that it ships with 6 mounts, a wrist remote and a rechargeable lithium-ion battery.  Many cameras in this category require that you purchase the accessories separately.  It is also Wi-Fi equipped so you can connect to a smart phone for live viewing, recording and sharing content.  Retail $ 280.00

Cool. Thanks for the review of the WASPcam. Seems like great features and accessories, at a value-full price point.

I have a multi-day sea kayaking adventure coming up, so was looking at getting a waterproof ‘sport’ camera such as this.

Any research or thoughts on comparison of the WASPcam to the GoPro line?

Hi Henry! The cool thing about the Wasp is that there is no case, the camera is waterproof. We recently used it to go snorkeling in the Bahamas and it was fantastic. The other great thing is that it comes with a ton of accessories for helmets, bike mounts, etc. It even has a remote control watch so we can mount it on the bow of the boat. Missy
