Ingredients
  

For the Dough
  • 3/4 Cup Butter Softened
  • 1 Cup White Sugar
  • 1 Egg
  • 1/4 Cup Molasses
Spices & Dry Ingredients
  • 2 Cup All-purpose flour
  • 2 Tsp Ground Ginger
  • 1 Tsp Baking Soda
  • 3/4 Tsp Ground Cinnamon
  • 1/2 Tsp Ground Cloves
  • 1/4 Tsp Salt
For Rolling
  • 2 Tbsp  White Sugar

Method
 

For the Dough
  1. In a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  2. Beat in the egg and molasses until fully combined.
For the Dry Ingredients
  1. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, ginger, baking soda, cinnamon, cloves, and salt.
Combining the Mixture
  1. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until a soft dough forms.
Shaping and Baking
  1. Shape dough into 1-inch balls and roll in sugar.
  2. Place balls 2 inches apart on prepared baking sheets lined with parchment paper.
  3. Bake for 8-10 minutes at 350°F (175°C) until edges are set but centers remain soft.
Cooling
  1. Let cookies cool on baking sheets for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
