Instructions
Making the Dough:
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Beat in the egg and molasses until fully combined.
Mixing the Dry Ingredients:
In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, ginger, and cloves.
Combining the Mixtures:
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until a soft dough forms.
Shaping the Cookies:
Roll dough into 1-inch balls, then roll each ball in granulated sugar to coat.
Baking & Cooling:
Place cookies on the prepared baking sheets, spacing them 2 inches apart.
Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until edges are set but centers remain soft.
Let cookies cool on baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
