Ingredients
For the Dough:
- 3/4 Cup Unsalted butter Softened
- 1 Cup Granulated sugar
- 1 Large Egg
- 1/4 Cup Molasses

- 2 Cups All-purpose flour
- 2 Teaspoons Baking soda
- 1/2 Teaspoon Salt
- 1 Teaspoon Ground cinnamon
- 1 Teaspoon Ground ginger
- 1/2 Teaspoon Ground cloves
For Rolling:
- 1/4 Cup Granulated sugar
Instructions
Making the Dough:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the egg and molasses until fully combined.
Mixing the Dry Ingredients:
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, ginger, and cloves.
Combining the Mixtures:
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until a soft dough forms.
Shaping the Cookies:
- Roll dough into 1-inch balls, then roll each ball in granulated sugar to coat.
Baking & Cooling:
- Place cookies on the prepared baking sheets, spacing them 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until edges are set but centers remain soft.
- Let cookies cool on baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
