Salt Spring’s synth pop quartet to perform at Moby’s for the first time, bringing Victoria’s Johnny Payne (The Shilohs) along for the ride.
DRAMA QUEEN
Drama Queen in a Salt Spring Island-based synthpop band, and the latest invocation from Knick Tomlinson formerly of “Superfeather.” The group consists of Knick on Synthesizer, Pierre Vincent Forgues on Synthesizers, Harley Dunn on bass guitar and Ben Frey on Drums. Effortlessly channelling the essence of the past while crafting a sound distinctly their own, Drama Queen weaves a tapestry of neon melodies and pulsating rhythms. They transcend the ordinary and envelope listeners in a vibrant sonic journey reminiscent of an electrifying ’80s dreamscape dancehall.

JOHNNY PAYNE
Do you remember rock and roll radio? The harmonies, the hooks, the choruses? Johnny Payne does. Or more specifically, he remembers that beautifully fucked up arc of let’s say ’70 to ’76, that time when the impossibly bright lights of an entire generation’s youthful idealism gave way to the muted amber glow of adult burn-out. Payne has set out on his own as a bona fide solo singer-songwriter and Impossible Way Of Life podcaster.
