Grant Lawrence and Friends Desolation Sound Tour 2026: READ ISLAND

Grant Lawrence and Friends brings their hit stories and songs show to beautiful Read Island for the first time ever!

Join local author, broadcaster and Desolation Sound raconteur Grant Lawrence for a very special early evening of stories and songs at the Lamberts Beach Gazebo located on the eastern shore of Read Island.

Grant will share stories about the people and places from our neighbourhood from his bestselling books (“Adventures in Solitude”, “Return to Solitude”), and upcoming new book “Whale Tale” from right where it has all happened.

Between stories, songs will be performed by special musical guests Danny Michel (Ontario), Desiree Dawson (Vancouver), Jill Barber (Desolation Sound), Tyler Bartfai (Powell River) and many special surprise local guests.

Doors will open at 5:00pm, showtime is 6pm. All ages. Night one of Read Island Beach Fest!
