Join me (Nick Woolsey) for 1 or 2 weeks of poi, flow arts, and adventure!
Leviathan Studio is on Lasqueti Island, BC—about 5 hours from Vancouver. It’s a dome with a sprung dance floor, on an off-grid island in the forest.

Your Adventure
- Deepen your freedom with poi: expressive dance, rhythm and musicality, and lots of moves! This is where I invite you into everything I’ve learned about poi over 20 years!
- Develop your flow skills with some of the greatest people you will ever meet
- Deepen friendships and connect with nature!
- Enjoy incredible food cooked on a wood stove with fresh ingredients: kale from the garden, locally raised chicken, fresh-caught salmon, and wild venison hunted by Mark (the owner)
Prerequisites
Week 1 (June 28 – July 4): You need to be comfortable with all the poi basics—meaning you can play somewhat freely with shoulder and hip reels, weaves and windmills, and some variations of butterflies.
Week 2 (July 5 – 11): For those who have played poi with me before (if you come to Week 1 you can automatically come to Week 2) OR who are playing poi at a pretty advanced level. If you want Week 2 only, DM me!
Lodging: Leviathan is in the forest and RUSTIC (but lots of top quality cooked food and water!). Most people bring tents and sleeping bags. There are great spots for hammocks. There’s also a rustic room above the sauna and some day beds around the dome. You can rent a large tent with bedding for $100 CAD for the entire time you’re there.
Important to know:
- No flush toilets—only well-maintained outhouses
- Drinking water from the well, and sinks with well water for washing and tooth brushing
- Solar-powered electricity—enough for phone charging, but no high-power devices (e.g., hairdryers)
- Internet is available at a bar/restaurant, a 20-minute walk away
- Lasqueti is remote—the nearest hospital is far away
- Coffee, teas, snacks, water, and abundant food will be provided
Meals: First meal is dinner on arrival day. Last meal is brunch on departure day.
Getting There
Lasqueti Island is about 5 hours from Vancouver:
- Ferry from Vancouver to Nanaimo
- 1-hour drive north
- Foot-passenger ferry to Lasqueti Island
- Total travel cost: about $70 CAD

Pricing
- One week: 1200CAD +5% tax for one week (about $875USD).
- Two weeks: 2250CAD + 5% tax for two weeks (about $1650USD)
**Includes 3 organic meals per day + snacks and coffee/teas.
How to register:
- Pay $100 CAD non-refundable deposit
- Balance is due 2 weeks before the retreat
