Texada Annual Fly-In and Fling

Texada Annual Fly-In and Fling brings aviation enthusiasts and community members together for two days of pancakes, planes, and plenty of island charm. Start the weekend with a laid-back Legion party – meat draws, burgers on the grill, and live music to kick off Thursday night – and follow it with a full day of breakfast, BBQ, skydivers, and aircraft demos at the airport.

July 26: Fly-In Fling at the Legion

• 3:30 PM: Doors open for meat draw and 50/50 raffle (public welcome)
• 5:00 PM: Burgers and wings off the grill
• 7:00 PM: Live music with Andi Hagen and friends – dance floor guaranteed
• Cover: Donation at the door

July 27: Texada Annual Fly-In at the Airport

• 8:00 AM: Pancake breakfast fuels pilots, volunteers, and early-bird spectators
• 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM: BBQ lunch, car/plane/bike show & shine, flight demonstrations, and skydiving displays
• All Day: Aviation museum and AirBuzz simulator open for donations; meet volunteers and browse memorabilia

Getting There & Insider Tips

• Access: Ferry from Powell River’s Westview Terminal to Blubber Bay, then a short drive north to the airport (CYGB)
• Runway & Campground: 3,000 ft asphalt runway adjacent to a seasonal campground – perfect for aviation-minded RVers and tent campers
• Pro Tip: Pack a reusable water bottle and hat – Texada’s sunshine is no joke, even between clouds and cumulus
