The sun has finally arrived, and it is really intense this year. I wanted to share some of my favourite sun products before you hit the beach. My standard “refresher” for many years has been Evian Facial Mist Spray. It contains a unique balance of beneficial minerals and water from the French Alps. This spray helps to enhance the performance of all other skincare products by hydrating the skin prior to the use of moisturizers, sunscreen or foundation.
For the past few years, my favourite facial sunscreen is Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry Touch Sunscreen. I have used the 55 and 60 SPF and this year purchased the 70 (rumour has it they have an 85 only available in the US). This sunscreen is ultra-light and fast absorbing; it is not greasy or hard to work into the skin. Neutrogena uses a patented technology called helio plex that provides the highest photostable UVA/UVB protection available that lasts up to 6 hours.
The newest product in my favourites list is the Shopper’s Drug Mart Life Brand Sunthera 3 SPF 60 Sunscreen; it comes in a really convenient spray and isn’t highly scented. It also absorbs into the skin quickly and doesn’t leave a sticky residue. The Canadian Dermatology Association recognizes both of these sunscreens.
And a bonus product to have onboard is the Sunthera3 After Sun Aloe Vera Gel Continuous Spray. Just in case you get too much sun.
