Ingredients
  

For the Dough

  • 3/4 Cup Butter Softened
  • 1 Cup White Sugar
  • 1 Egg
  • 1/4 Cup Molasses

Spices & Dry Ingredients

  • 2 Cup All-purpose flour
  • 2 Tsp Ground Ginger
  • 1 Tsp Baking Soda
  • 3/4 Tsp Ground Cinnamon
  • 1/2 Tsp Ground Cloves
  • 1/4 Tsp Salt

For Rolling

  • 2 Tbsp  White Sugar

Instructions
 

For the Dough

  • In a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in the egg and molasses until fully combined.

For the Dry Ingredients

  • In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, ginger, baking soda, cinnamon, cloves, and salt.

Combining the Mixture

  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until a soft dough forms.

Shaping and Baking

  • Shape dough into 1-inch balls and roll in sugar.
  • Place balls 2 inches apart on prepared baking sheets lined with parchment paper.
  • Bake for 8-10 minutes at 350°F (175°C) until edges are set but centers remain soft.

Cooling

  • Let cookies cool on baking sheets for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
