Vinyl Flooring for your Boat

The carpet on my boat was beyond repair. It was old, tired and would not perk up no matter how many times I steam-cleaned it. It was done. I am really not crazy about carpet on a boat, but there weren’t that many options years ago when I decided to replace the carpet with more carpet.

This time I did some homework and discovered a new PVC product from Uberhaus called loose lay, vinyl, narrow planks. They are waterproof, safety-click for easy installation and 100% recyclable. When I removed the carpet, the flooring beneath was uneven, raw fibreglass, so I had to install a plywood subfloor. The planks were easy to cut and fit together nicely. The finished product is spectacular, making the whole galley look bigger and new again. The product retails at Rona for $49 per box (18 sq. ft.), and my galley took 3.5 boxes. I have been using it for about two months, and it is holding up well, even with the dog.

I only endorse products I have used or that come highly recommended by a fellow boater.  If you purchase a product through an Amazon affiliate link, I may receive a small commission.  However, there is no extra cost to you.  I am not recommending products solely for the commission, I am doing it so I can try more cool products.
