Protein balls make an excellent healthy snack for several reasons. First, they are rich in protein, which is essential for muscle repair and growth, maintaining a healthy metabolism, and keeping you feeling full longer.
Protein balls often incorporate ingredients like nuts, seeds, protein powder, and nut butters, all of which contribute to their high protein content. This makes them particularly beneficial for those looking to manage their weight, as the protein helps to curb hunger and reduce overall calorie intake by promoting a feeling of satiety. Additionally, protein is vital for overall health, supporting the immune system, and aiding in the production of enzymes and hormones.
My favourite protein powder is the Vega All In One Vegan Protein Powder.
No Bake Peanut Butter Protein Balls
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup protein powder
- 1/4 cup flax seed
- 2/3 cup peanut butter
- 1 tbsp honey
Instructions
- Mix together the protein powder, flax seed, and peanut butter
- Add the honey to the bowl and mix all ingredients
- Use your hands to form the clump into a big ball
- Divide into 4 sections and roll into individual balls
- Chill in the fridge for one hour before serving
- They can be frozen so I usually make a big batch at home and freeze them individually, then store in a tupperware container in the freezer. They are great to throw in your backpack for a hike.
