Ingredients

Instructions
For the Dough:
- In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until fully combined.
Mixing the Dry Ingredients:
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
Combining the Mixtures:
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until a soft dough forms.
Chilling & Rolling:
- Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and chill for at least 1 hour.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Roll the dough on a lightly floured surface to about 1/4-inch thickness.
Shaping & Baking:
- Use cookie cutters to create desired shapes.
- Place cookies on parchment-lined baking sheets, spacing them 2 inches apart.
- Decorate with colored sugar or sprinkles if desired.
Baking & Cooling:
- Bake for 8-10 minutes or until edges are lightly golden.
- Let cookies cool on baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
