Perfectly Sweet Sugar Cookies

Perfectly Sweet Sugar Cookies

Ingredients
  

For the Dough:
  • 1 Cup Unsalted butter Softened
  • 1 Cup Granulated sugar
  • 1 Large Egg
  • 1 Teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 Cups All-purpose flour
For Flavor & Texture:
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Baking powder
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Salt
For Decorating:
  • Colored sugar or sprinkles (optional)

Equipment

  • Mixing bowls
  • Electric mixer
  • Measuring cups and spoons

  • Parchment paper
  • Rolling Pin

Method
 

For the Dough:
  1. In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  2. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until fully combined.
Mixing the Dry Ingredients:
  1. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
Combining the Mixtures:
  1. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until a soft dough forms.
Chilling & Rolling:
  1. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and chill for at least 1 hour.
  2. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  3. Roll the dough on a lightly floured surface to about 1/4-inch thickness.
Shaping & Baking:
  1. Use cookie cutters to create desired shapes.
  2. Place cookies on parchment-lined baking sheets, spacing them 2 inches apart.
  3. Decorate with colored sugar or sprinkles if desired.
Baking & Cooling:
  1. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until edges are lightly golden.
  2. Let cookies cool on baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
